How it's done :
The process requires surgery and may take up to a year to complete.
A metal anchor (implant), artificial root, is placed into the jawbone. Bone grows around the anchor. This takes about three to six months.
A metal or ceramic post (abutment) is attached to the implant. An impression or mould is made of the abutment and the surrounding teeth.
After your gums and jawbone have healed, a crown is placed on the abutment.
