Overview At the 1st visit to your dentist, you should be initially seen for a thorough examination and diagnosis. Before dental disease can be prevented, all other active diseases must be arrested. This can only be done if we know what conditions are present. Radiographs (x-rays) of your teeth and bone structures, impressions of your mouth, photographs, and a complete examination will help to evaluate your oral health. Not only are teeth, bones and soft tissues examined for evidence of disease, but an evaluation is made of the interrelationship between teeth and jaw movements. A second visit is usually used to begin dental cleanings and discuss treatment options. Following examination, diagnosis and consultation at your 1st visit, you will be presented with a definite treatment plan, as well as alternatives and their costs. |
